LumiNode Battery Life:
LumiNode batteries last approximately 3-6 months depending on environmental conditions and wireless signal conditions.
How do I charge the LumiNode?
- Remove the orange rubber cover of the LumiNode
- Locate the USB-C port at the top side of the node enclosure. Connect a USB-C cable to a 5V wall charger
- The wall charger must supply only 5V and a minimum of 1A to properly charge the LumiNode. Wall chargers with Power Delivery (PD) that support other voltages such as 9V and/or 12V are not compatible
- For best performance, it is highly recommended to use the USB charger and the cable that comes with the LumiNode.
After connecting the charger, one of the three LEDs in the battery icon on the LumiNode's front face will flash to indicate the current battery level. The LumiNode usually takes 8-24 hours to fully charge.
The three LEDs will remain solid when the device is fully charged.
What to do if the battery LEDs do not light up when plugged into the wall charger?
First of all, double check the following
- Wall charger is connected to an outlet and AC power is available
- USB-C cable is not damaged
- Wall charger can supply only 5V and a minimum of 1A of current or that you are using the OEM charger shipped with the LumiNode
In certain cases when the LumiNode has significantly low battery level, the battery indicator may not light up even after plugging it into the wall charger.
In that case, do the following steps,
- Leave the LumiNode connected to the charger for at least 24 hours
- Unplug the USB-C cable from the LumiNode
- Plug in the USB-C cable to the LumiNode again
The battery LED will either stay on continuously or flash, indicating that it still needs more charge. If the battery LED still does not turn on, contact LumiCon support for further assistance.
How can I maximize the battery life of the LumiNode?
- Avoid operating or storing the LumiNode in extremely high or low temperatures.
- Keep the LumiSense cable disconnected when the LumiNode is not in use.
- When using the LumiNode in the field, install the LumiNode in a location with the good cellular connectivity – weak signal connectivity requires more power from the LumiNode to stay connected
