What to do if I receive a warning message saying "Unable to read sensor"?

What is this?

If our system is unable to receive or stops receiving temperature data from the sensor cable, a warning message appears. This message informs you to check the hardware as soon as possible, as it indicates that no temperature data is being recorded.

This is likely caused by one of the following:

  1. LumiSense cable is damaged inside or outside the concrete.
  2. The connector of the LumiSense cable is not properly seated on the LumiNode.

We recommend inspecting the sensor cable, sensor connector, LumiNode, and/or the expansion box immediately.

Check for any sharp objects near the cable that could puncture it.

You can attempt to troubleshoot by the following:

  1. Disconnect the LumiSense connector fully from the LumiNode or the Expansion Box.
  2. Ensure the connector is free of debris.
  3. Wait for 1 minute.
  4. Reconnect the connector and fully tighten the nut until finger-tight.

Monitor the LumiCon app for the next data transmission. If the warning message persists, you may need to review the cable installation and follow best practices for better cable protection. Keep in mind, no temperature data is being recorded for that specific job while this warning message shows.
